Amen! Lagos State government restricts trailers from plying roads from 6am to 9pm

What we prayed for. Hopefully, the owners of these trailers & their drivers will adhere to this. Lagos State Government today announced that trailers and articulated vehicles are no longer allowed to ply the city between the hours of 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. to prevent accidents following the fatal one that occurred on September 2nd.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Oluseyi Whenu, disclosed this at a meeting in Lagos with the leadership of the various transport unions in the State. He explained that the restriction was to ensure strict enforcement of the Road Traffic Law, which, according to him, was often violated by the trailer drivers. He said the government would henceforth go tough on any trailer that contravenes the law.

VIDEO: 1 dead 3 injured during T.I Concert

One person was killed and three others wounded in a shooting inside a concert venue in New York City, where hip-hop artist T.I. was scheduled to perform, police said. It happened around 22:15 on Wednesday at Irving Plaza, near Manhattan's Union Square. Police said a 34-year-old man was shot in the chest and a 33-year-old man was shot in the stomach. One of the men later died at a hospital, police did not say which one. A 26-year-old woman was shot in the leg. Police said a fourth person walked into a hospital on their own. Elijah Rodriguez was attending the concert with his sister and they were in the VIP area by the stage. He said T.I. was supposed to go on stage at 21:00 or 21:30 but "he never showed up."
