Indonesia's president has issued a regulation that provides tougher penalties for child rapists, including chemical castration.
President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo said on Wednesday the administrative order is a response to increasing sexual violence against children.
The president earlier declared that sexual offences against children are a particularly serious crime because they endanger the child's life and well-being.
Demands for harsher punishments have increased following the rape and murder of a teenage girl by 14 men in western Indonesia last month.

FG bars 113 vessels from lifting oil in Nigeria The Federal government has barred 113 vessels from lifting oil in the 27 oil terminals in Nigeria. The Federal government's directive is contained in a memo sent out by NNPC on July 15th to owners of the affected vessels. According to Sahara Reporters , the 113 vessels were reportedly involved in a systematic oil theft which was recently discovered by the Federal government. The vessels were also barred from operating within Nigeria's territorial waters. The 27 oil terminals from which the vessels have been barred from lifting Nigerian crude. The terminals are Forcados, Bonny, Bonga, Sea Eagle, Qua lboe, Erha, Yoho, Usan, Bonny River Terminal, Escravos, Agbami, Pennington, Escravos LPG FSO, Escravos Gas Terminal, Antan, Okwori, Odudu, Akpo, Brass, Abo, Okono, Oyo, lma, Okoro, Ukpokiti, Tulja, and Ebok. South Carolina Governor signs legislation that bans abortion after 19 weeks

South Carolina has become the latest state in the United States to ban abortion. Republican Gov. Nikki Haley signed the legislation yesterday and the law outlaws all abortions at 20 weeks beyond fertilization unless the mother's life is in jeopardy or a doctor determines the fetus can't survive outside the womb. Like most similar laws, it contains no exceptions for rape or incest. According to the Bill sponser, Republican Wendy Nanney, she is hopeful the law is a step to eventually get rid of abortion altogether. Doctors now face up to $10,000 in fines and three years in prison if they are found carrying out an abortion illegally.
