Photos: 67 migrants drowned after boats capsized off Libya, 3,000 rescued, including Nigerians 67 migrants are feared dead off Libya and the coastal town of Zuwara after more than 3,000 people attempted the crossing between Tuesday and Wednesday. The crew of the Swedish rescue vessel Poseidon discovered around 52 bodies in the hold of a wooden boat from which around 400 people were rescued some 30 miles north of Libya. FORMER PRES. REACT TO ATTACKS FRM OSINBANJO

Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to recent allegations levelled against him by Vice-president, Yemi Osinbajo who claimed that the former leader squandered N150 billion weeks to the 2015 Elections. Jonathan in a post on his social media page alerted the public of ‘plans to falsely impugn him’. He wrote; “It has been brought to my attention that while I am away promoting democracy in Sierra Leone, a campaign will be unleashed against me to falsely impugn my name  using both faceless and identified persons. When I was in power I said my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian. Even out of power, I continue to hold that belief. What I will say, however, is that no matter how far and fast falsehood has travelled, it must eventually be overtaken by truth. YABATECH EXPEL 73 FOR.........

YABATECH expels 73 for forgery The Academic Board of Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos, has expelled 73 students for presenting suspected forged results. A statement by the college made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday said the affected students were part-time pursuing National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programmes. Signed by the Deputy Registrar, Mrs Titilayo Obadimu, the statement said the affected students registered for the 2013/2014 academic session. According to the statement, the results were discovered during the verification of Senior Secondary School certificates and National Diploma results. It said 46 students for National Diploma and 27 for Higher National Diploma were affected. “All affected students are advised to hand over the property of the college in their possession, including Identity Cards, to their heads of department, the librarian and Dean of Students’ Affairs,’’ it said.
