Nigeria and two other countries have been recognised as the best performing countries by the Economic Commission for Africa in accomplishing activities of the African Road Safety Action Plan. Among the 23 countries, Ghana and South Africa were also listed as performing well according to a mid-term review report from the third African road safety conference organised by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa. According to Newswatch Times, the report showed that 40% of member countries were in the process of implementing more road safety management. The report showed that different measures were used to rate the countries as some who performed high in some categories performed low in others. The rating however, provided an avenue for countries tom identify weak links and perform better there.
