Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to recent allegations levelled against him by Vice-president, Yemi Osinbajo who claimed that the former leader squandered N150 billion weeks to the 2015 Elections.
Jonathan in a post on his social media page alerted the public of ‘plans to falsely impugn him’. He wrote;
“It has been brought to my attention that while I am away promoting democracy in Sierra Leone, a campaign will be unleashed against me to falsely impugn my name using both faceless and identified persons.
When I was in power I said my ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian. Even out of power, I continue to hold that belief.
What I will say, however, is that no matter how far and fast falsehood has travelled, it must eventually be overtaken by truth. GEJ.”
Jonathan is currently gearing up to supervise the second-round of voting in the Sierra Leone presidential elections after the first-round failed to produce a clear winner. He is the head of election observers in the country.
It will be recalled in recent times Jonathan has been facing continuous attacks from president Buhari and his vice, Yemi Osinbajo. Last week alone, the two had launched serious allegations against the ex-president.
Buhari first struck by saying that he handled the kidnap of 110 Dapchi schoolgirls far better than Jonathan, accusing his predecessor of being ‘insensitive’ to the plight of Chibok girls after they were kidnapped under his watch in 2014.
A few days later, Mr Osinbajo criticised Jonathan for withdrawing about N150 billion from the public coffers days to the 2015 elections, money he said was never accounted for.

VIDEO: 1 dead 3 injured during T.I Concert

One person was killed and three others wounded in a shooting inside a concert venue in New York City, where hip-hop artist T.I. was scheduled to perform, police said. It happened around 22:15 on Wednesday at Irving Plaza, near Manhattan's Union Square. Police said a 34-year-old man was shot in the chest and a 33-year-old man was shot in the stomach. One of the men later died at a hospital, police did not say which one. A 26-year-old woman was shot in the leg. Police said a fourth person walked into a hospital on their own. Elijah Rodriguez was attending the concert with his sister and they were in the VIP area by the stage. He said T.I. was supposed to go on stage at 21:00 or 21:30 but "he never showed up." At or around 22:00 he said the venue started playing music again, and at about 22:15, he saw a line of people coming out from where the performers were coming onstage. EMENIKE FIRES FENERBACHE TO CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WIN The former Super Eagles forward scored twice in Tuesday's Champions League playoff against Monaco Nigeria international Emmanuel Emenike scored two goals on Tuesday's evening to hand Fenerbache a 2-1 win against Monaco in the first leg of the Champions league qualifiers.
